Common Questions

Quick Answers Before You Call

How much does epoxy flooring cost?

Every floor is different, so the best number comes after photos or an on-site review. As a rough starting point, solid colour epoxy is usually around $8 - $12 per sq ft, decorative flake around $9 - $14 per sq ft, metallic epoxy around $10 - $16 per sq ft, quartz systems around $12 - $18 per sq ft, polyaspartic or polyurea around $10 - $16 per sq ft, polished concrete around $8 - $15 per sq ft, and premium custom systems can be higher. Prep, coating removal, repairs, moisture concerns, cove base, vertical edges and access can change the final quote.

Why can two epoxy quotes be very different?

The price is not only the coating. A proper quote should account for surface grinding, crack repair, old coating removal, moisture conditions, the number of layers, topcoat choice, slip resistance, square footage and how the space will be used. A low quote can look good at first, but it may leave out the prep that helps the floor last.

How long does installation usually take?

Many garage and residential projects take a few working days from prep to final coat. Larger commercial spaces, complex repairs, custom metallic work, cold temperatures or extra cure time can extend the schedule. We confirm timing after reviewing the floor and selected system.

Can epoxy work in Vancouver wet weather?

Yes, but moisture needs to be taken seriously. Concrete should be reviewed before coating, especially in garages, basements and older slabs. If there are moisture concerns, the system may need extra prep or a moisture-control approach before any finish goes down.

What is the best system for a garage?

For most garages, a decorative flake or polyaspartic/polyurea topcoat system is a strong choice because it adds texture, hides dust better than a plain glossy floor and is easier to maintain. Metallic epoxy can also be used in garages when the goal is a showpiece look.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Epoxy is often used for build, body, design layers and metallic effects. Polyaspartic and polyurea products are often used when faster cure times, UV stability or a tough topcoat are important. Some premium floors use more than one product type so the system has both appearance and performance.

Can epoxy floors be slippery?

Any glossy surface can be slippery when wet. For garages, commercial spaces or areas that may see water, we can discuss texture and anti-slip additives. The right amount of texture depends on how the space will be used and how easy it needs to be to clean.

Can damaged epoxy be repaired?

Small wear, scratches or dull spots can often be improved with cleaning, screening or a fresh topcoat. Larger failures, peeling or damaged areas usually need more prep and recoating. The repair method depends on why the damage happened and what system was installed.

How do I maintain an epoxy floor?

Keep grit and debris off the floor, clean spills quickly and mop with a mild cleaner when needed. Avoid harsh solvents unless the system was designed for chemical exposure. For garages, soft tire marks and road grime are easier to manage when the floor is cleaned regularly.

Do you coat commercial and industrial floors?

Yes. Commercial and industrial projects may need more durability, slip resistance, chemical resistance, thicker build or after-hours scheduling. We look at traffic, cleaning, safety needs and downtime before recommending a system.

Do you serve areas outside Vancouver?

Yes. Liquid Luxe Epoxy serves Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Victoria, the Lower Mainland and select surrounding areas. If your location is not listed, choose Other on the booking form and type your city.

What should I send before booking a quote?

Send the project location, approximate square footage, a few clear photos of the concrete, any known issues such as cracks or old coatings, and the finish style you like. Photos help us give better guidance before scheduling a site visit.

How We Think About Epoxy Flooring Projects

Epoxy flooring is not just a shiny coating. The final result depends on the concrete, preparation, repair work, product system, topcoat and how the space will be used. That is why a garage, a bathroom, a showroom and a warehouse should not all be priced or planned the exact same way.

The most important part is what happens before the finish goes down. Grinding, crack repair, moisture review and old coating removal can affect the final price, but those steps are also what help the coating bond properly and perform over time.
